It looks likely that some hands are missing from the hand history, around the time he changes tables (and we stop seeing his cards)….and/or a lot of people busted at once on the other table?

  2. JanB737 on May 22nd, 2008 2:55 pm

That’s because he had you on a draw, raised your bluff with the best hand, you reraised with nada. He just correctly put you on a range of hands.

A semi-bluff needs another card coming. A good player knows what range of hands you can have, and whether you might bluff/reraise a big pot at limit.

Maybe you’ve done it before and the guy was paying attention or found stats on you.

Limit is not the same animal as no-limit. He was just lucky one of your busted diamonds wasn’t the J.

i guess the money got to him. around 9million in winnings supposedly was won by the cheaters on the site before they were caught

  4. AceJackSuited on May 25th, 2008 5:44 pm

That’s what I was thinking the whole time. He couldn’t have been more obvious and winning with 10 high? No wonder the guy who came 2nd wanted an investigation

  5. thepurplemann on May 27th, 2008 1:01 am

    maybe ur just really stupid

  6. Shatcore on May 29th, 2008 7:30 pm

This guy is such an idiot, I dont condone what they did… but come on if you’re gonna do it at least try and stay under the radar. Picking off EVERY bluff and winning every pot you’re ahead in or your opponent has air, idiot. I’d play the biggest sunday guarantee they had, play a normal range, win enough to keep a nice stack, get to the final table and play when you’re ahead. Then enjoy your 50k dont play for like another month or 2 at least.

potripper is an insider of absolute poker. gambling sites may prevent this, but AP actually helped potripper at cheating.

  14. kalanilee on June 10th, 2008 10:28 pm

How safe is it really to play on the gambling sites If stuff like this really exist? And what are the poker sites doing to prevent this from happening again?

  15. CoryLunchb0x on June 12th, 2008 5:42 pm

honestly if i could cheat i would just play solid poker on high limit tables and grind out an easy living, soooo greedy.

  16. Cryogenian on June 16th, 2008 1:44 am

For those that may not understand what is going on
google “potripper’s actions explained” @ the pocketfives*com link
then google “Wizard of Odds Absolute Poker” @ the wizardofodds*com link
Very good reading, these sites makes it very clear everything that happened, and what happen afterwards., what you are watching now is PokerXFactor Hand Viewer of the hand history that took place at Absolute Poker

  17. Cryogenian on June 18th, 2008 11:15 pm

Jeffw he doesn’t know which cards are coming just what the hole cards are, the reason hand #92 didn’t work is when he raised with 26 CAPNL reraise all-in with A5, he had to fold, if capnl had just called and didn’t hit then Potriper would had popped it, that’s his MO

  18. xSkipperJx on June 21st, 2008 3:59 pm

the guys an idiot. He never makes a mistake. Talk about greedy. If youre gonna cheat pottripper why be so bloody stupid about it. How frustrating to play him. Always raises when you miss, always checks when you hit big

  19. 510WhatITdo on June 24th, 2008 2:16 am

farha wouldn’t call someone reraising with 10 high.

  20. darkgallus on June 25th, 2008 3:27 pm

To my minds, he thought that a player with A5 would throw away a hand like this one. It’s telling that he only knows the holecards of his opponents, not these on the board. Potripper threw away 26 because it’s not a favorite hand against A5…

  21. nick1613 on June 25th, 2008 5:44 pm

doesn’t explain why he can see their cards on the replay

  22. luizeba on June 28th, 2008 2:33 pm

    I think jeffw is right

He is a very aggresive player..I see this every time on PokerStars…players how always raises and raises, and fold when any players show aggresion.

Look farha at the HighStakesPoker…he raises 90% of his hands, and fold the others 10%

  23. jeffw1267 on July 1st, 2008 3:08 pm

Oh, and note hand #92. Potripper raised first in on the button, which many aggressive players will do every time, then folded to a reraise. If he knew what was going to happen, why did he throw away those chips? Right?? Wouldn’t he simply fold the hand to begin with?

  24. jeffw1267 on July 3rd, 2008 2:31 pm

I’ve watched this whole recreation, and I’m still not seeing a cheater here. It’s just an aggressive player taking advantage of a bunch of weak-tights. Watch Sammy Farha in a hold’em tourney and it’ll go a lot like this, and no one is calling Sammy a cheater.

  25. Gforcebond on July 4th, 2008 11:55 am

I heard the account of Potripper was like an executive at Absolute Poker. Then AP announced that someone had hacked into this guys account and that’s who the cheater was…really shady stuff over there at Absoulte Poker. I woudln’t trust em as far as i could throw em.
